Take train No. 350 from St. Petersburg or No. 680 from Petrozavodsk to the Kostomuksha station. See the train schedule here: www.rzd.ru.
You can take the local bus from Kostomuksha to the village of Voknavolok.

Travel along route M18 in the direction of Murmansk (283 km), then turn onto the Kochkoma — Kostomuksha — border route. After you turn off M18, you will find a petrol station, TNK. If you need to get petrol for your car, it is better to do it either in Petrozavodsk or in this petrol station.
If you have decided to come though Finland, then you can come by your own car, or rent one, and set out from Kajaani towards Kostomuksha.
